Applications are invited for the post of Project Research Scientist II (Non-Medical) for the sponsored project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under the Centre for Advanced Research Scheme to the VIT School of Bio-Science and Technology (SBST), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, T.N, India.
Title of the Project: “Generation of Bacteriophages for Combating Bacterial Infections of the Skin and Musculoskeletal System.”
Number of posts: 01
Qualification: Ist Class PG Degrees / Integrated PG with three years of experience or Ph.D. (Life Science/Biological Sciences/Engineering or Technology)
IInd Class PG Degree, Including the Integrated PG degrees, with PhD and three years of experience.
Desirable (if any): The candidate should be involved in the sampling, susceptibility testing and designing the experiments to determine the killing effect of bacteriophages. Microbiology work background needed. He/she is also expected to work with whole genome sequences using bioinformatics-based data analysis. Bacteriophage work experience is not mandatory.
The position will be under the general supervision of the Project Director.
Stipend: Rs. 67,000/- per month + 10 % HRA per month (73,700).
Sponsoring Agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) under the Centre for Advanced Research Scheme.
Duration: 4 years
